CASE: James Wilkerson (Case #26FE016891)
PROSECUTOR: Deputy District Attorney Stephanie Maroun, Adult Sexual Assault Prosecution Unit

On October 27, 2026, a jury found James Wilkerson guilty of attempting to traffic an underage victim, along with charges of pimping and pandering. His arrest followed a coordinated operation by the Sacramento Regional Human Trafficking Task Force, during which he initiated contact with an undercover agent posing as a minor, soliciting her to work as a sex worker under his control.

The Task Force identified another female allegedly exploited by Wilkerson, leading to a successful operation to apprehend him and aid the victim. At the upcoming sentencing hearing, the existence of Wilkerson’s prior assault conviction will be addressed. He could face up to 26 years and 8 months in prison, with sentencing scheduled for January 22, 2027, at 9 AM in Department 11A before Honorable Carlton Davis.
