Sugar Coated Cupcakes, a bakery located in Sacramento’s Tahoe Park area, is reaching out for community assistance after a significant theft took place last week. Toys intended for local children were taken from the bakery owner’s storage unit, leaving a void in the upcoming holiday plans.
LaQueanya Henry, the bakery’s owner, explains that her initiative, the Sugar Coated Toy Shop, partners with under-resourced schools and social workers to supply toys and gifts for families of children in those communities. Even though she is unsure of the total number of toys lost, Henry remains committed to ensuring that every child has a gift on Christmas morning. She is currently accepting toy donations at the bakery and via the store’s website to help recover from this setback.
