Lodi city council to vote on annexation of nearly 100 acres

LODI, Calif. — On Wednesday, the Lodi city council will make a decision regarding a proposal to annex approximately 100 acres of land located on the west side of South Lower Sacramento Road into the city limits. This proposal, known as the Westside “F” Annexation, encompasses 95.3 acres currently under San Joaquin County zoning.

The annexation recommendation comes from the city’s planning commission, and if approved, it will categorize the land into five different uses: public and community facilities, residential, and mixed commercial use. Should the city council green-light the annexation, the matter will then be submitted to the San Joaquin County Local Agency Formation Commission for further evaluation. The council meeting is set to take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and responses from property owners regarding this initiative have been varied, with some in support and others opposed.
