SACRAMENTO, Calif. — In anticipation of the Sacramento Kings’ home opener on Friday, businesses near the Golden 1 Center are poised for an influx of enthusiastic fans. A highlight is the opening of a new Kings team store in Downtown Commons (DOCO), a 4,000-square-foot facility offering merchandise for fans of all ages and pets, which will remain open year-round. John Rinehart, the Kings’ president of business operations, explained, “It’s really a place for our Kings fans to come year-round… to shop and eat with all the other stuff that we have going on.”
Nearby establishments, including Tipsy Putt and Café X, are preparing for the increased crowds with special promotions and offerings. Tipsy Putt plans to show every game and provide pre-game discounts, while Café X will offer a relaxed atmosphere with specialty coffee and cocktails. Andrew LaFrance from the Downtown Sacramento Partnership noted that Kings games boost activity in the area, attracting more visitors looking for dining and entertainment options. With the season kicking off, businesses are hopeful for an uptick in customers amid the excitement.
