Sacramento Public Library Partners with PBS KVIE for Community Storytelling Initiative

The Sacramento Public Library has joined forces with Abridged by PBS KVIE for a new storytelling initiative named ‘Tell me more.’ This project, set to launch in November, aims to take place at various library branches throughout the county.

The library, supported by Abridged, received a competitive grant from More Perfect and the Urban Libraries Council. The initiative focuses on amplifying community narratives, providing patrons opportunities to engage with library and newsroom staff, and fostering meaningful dialogue about the lives and experiences of those in the Sacramento area.

Community members will encounter prompts designed to encourage participation in discussions, contributing to the rich narrative of the region. Feedback collected will be shared with Abridged editors, creating a channel for community voices to be reflected in media coverage.
