This Halloween season, the mysterious band known as The Sugar Pushers has returned to Sacramento, claiming to come from the underworld.

They performed at Amatoria Fine Art Books in Midtown, as part of a special Halloween edition of “The Stacks,” a concert and discussion series by Abridged and PBS KVIE. The band, featuring characters such as Count Abel, Dr. Bog—who also runs a restaurant—Pooka, and The Muck, only surface during this time of year and then disappear until the next October.

During their engaging performance filled with thrilling rock ’n’ roll and eerie hymns, spectators were treated to a night full of chills and excitement. The event concluded with a Q&A session featuring Miranda Culp, the owner of Amatoria, and the band members themselves.
