Human remains found presumed to be blind man who disappeared in 2025, Sacramento city council member says

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Human remains located in a field are thought to be those of Lovett Moore, a blind and disabled individual who went missing on June 28, 2025. Sacramento City Councilmember Lisa Kaplan’s office informed KCRA 3 that while the remains are presumed to belong to Moore, DNA confirmation is still awaited from the coroner’s office.

The Sacramento Police Department responded to the scene near East Commerce Way and Tanzanite Avenue on Monday morning following the discovery. This area is close to where Moore, also known as ‘LJ,’ was last seen at the Aisle 1 Fuel Station on Arena Boulevard. Moore’s family has expressed concerns about possible foul play regarding his disappearance, though law enforcement has not verified such claims in their ongoing investigation.
