Can Other Teams in Sac-Joaquin Football Compete With Folsom’s Dominance?

In Joe Davidson’s latest Sac-Joaquin Section Top 25 rankings, Folsom holds the top position, followed by Oak Ridge, Destiny Christian, Grant, and Del Oro as the top five teams. Sutter stands out as the leading small school, with Mira Loma maintaining its undefeated status in the 8-man category.

Folsom has historically dominated the regional scene since 2018, prompting other teams in the Sierra Foothill League to strategize ways to challenge them. Despite their consistent victories and a record of 84 wins in their last 86 games, the competition is increasingly fierce. Notably, Folsom’s recent games, including close wins against Rocklin and Del Oro, reflect the growing challenges they face. Coaches and players from rival teams are convinced they can surpass Folsom, indicating that the pursuit to dethrone the Bulldogs is alive and well in high school football.
